The Lions Medical Eye Bank and Research Center of Eastern Virginia is a Non-Profit Transplant Agency that Provides People the Opportunity to Donate Eye Tissues,
Healthcare Professionals the Means to End Blindness, and
Patients the Hope of Clear Vision.
The Lions Clubs of District 24-I (at the time 24-D) were key to our founding in 1978, with the goal to help restore sight to thousands of individuals in Hampton Roads. We have since expanded to supply donated eye tissues from southeastern Virginia across the United States and throughout the world. With the help of our partners at Sentara Healthcare, the organization has grown to become a model for other eye banks worldwide.

Here at the Lions Medical Eye Bank, we recognize that it takes our entire community to complete our mission.
